Vandezande was responsible for the design, construction and commissioning of 1 x 90 kW VDZ Hydro Power Screw on the River Ayr in Scotland.
The trough is of the "semi-compact" type, characterised by the self-supporting trough with integrated bearing support, inlet, outlet and mesh cover. This makes it possible to reduce the civil construction work.
The adjacent valve weir was also supplied by Vandezande. This weir has a double function: on the one hand, it is used to flush the dirt grid, on the other hand, the weir is opened at high tide.
